Stronger for Costești is an educational and civic activation project dedicated to Costești commune, Buzău county. The project is carried out by the Advocacy and Human Rights Center in partnership with the Buzău Community Development Agency, Costești Secondary School and the Buzău Prefect’s Institution, between April 2015 and April 2016. Through its activities we aim to offer solutions for community development as a whole. .
The summer kindergarten for 25 Roma and non-Roma preschoolers from Costești takes place between August 7 and September 7, 2015 and is hosted by the Pietrosu Kindergarten with normal schedule.
The debate camp for 20 Roma and non-Roma students and 3 teachers of the Costești Gymnasium School is organized between July 31 and August 6, 2015 in Olimp resort.
The educational mentoring and school remediation program for 40 Roma students of Costești Gymnasium School takes place during the school year 2015 – 2016 and is carried out by the teachers of the school.
The literacy program for 15 women in the community is aimed in particular at mothers of children working in the program.
The public consultations between the inhabitants of Costești commune and the local authorities are organized for the realization of the commune’s needs map and the plan of measures for the implementation at local level of the Romanian Government Strategy for the Roma.
The first debate event in Costești commune is held in April 2016 by the students of Costești Secondary School, members of the local debate club.
